Divorce and Family Legal Team
Meet the team
Mariam J. Al Darabseh has always channeled her skills and passion for justice. She began her career at the age of 16 when she co-founded the largest youth community service organization in her town. Mariam realized her civic duty at an early age and has been tirelessly working to promote justice and represent her community ever since. In fact, she currently is serving her community as a City Council Member and running for the County Board of Supervisors.
Mariam is an alumna of the University of California, Davis where she earned her degree in Political Science with a minor in Middle East/South Asia Studies. While in college, Mariam worked on various immigration cases in her capacity as an intern for Congressman Mike Thompson in his district office, as well as in Washington, D.C.
While attending the University of the Pacific’s McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, Mariam worked at various non-profit organizations in their immigration departments. She was also an on-campus representative for Bloomberg Law and Themis Bar Review while serving on the board of two campus clubs as the Outreach Coordinator of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Club and the Membership Chair of the Middle Eastern South Asian Association. Mariam ultimately earned a certificate in International Legal Studies, along with her J.D.
After law school, Mariam went to The Hague, Netherlands where she was able to use her Arabic skills as a Trial Chambers Intern at the Special Tribunal for Lebanon. There, she was able to write decisions and oral orders on behalf of the presiding judge.
Prior to practicing family law, Mariam honed her skills in civil litigation, insurance defense, business law, and immigration law. Mariam’s broad experience helps her spot potential issues for her clients before they turn into problems. Mariam’s practice is primarily focused in Contra Costa, Napa, and Solano Counties.
When Mariam is not busy advocating for her clients, she enjoys hiking, being outdoors, and spending time with her family.
Mariam is conversationally fluent in Arabic.
